Outdoor living

Pawleys Island Outdoor Furniture

Adirondack chairs, rockers, porch swings, outdoor dining, tables and the original rope hammock. Handmade in the Carolinas since 1889, and we can order any of it.

The whole line, not just the hammocks

Most people know Pawleys Island for the rope hammock they have been weaving since 1889. The rest of what they build deserves the same attention: DURAWOOD® poly Adirondack chairs and rockers, cushioned seating, coastal rope chairs, porch swings, outdoor dining sets and tables in every height. We can order any of it, so tell us what you are trying to furnish.

Poly chairs are heavy on purpose, which is exactly what you want in an afternoon thunderstorm. Bring a photo of your porch or patio and we will help you work out how many chairs fit and which colors work together.

What Pawleys Island makes

Adirondack chairs

The Essentials, Sunrise, Crescent, Refined and Nest styles, plus a kid-sized chair. Same classic shape, different backs and arms.

Rockers and folding chairs

Adirondack rockers in several styles, and folding versions for when the porch has to do double duty.

DURAWOOD® poly lumber

Pressed from recycled industrial waste with no wood fiber in it, so it will not absorb water, rot, splinter or crack. Fade resistant, and it never needs paint or sealant.

Hardware that does not rust

Marine-grade 316 stainless steel fasteners and mortise and tenon joinery, which is what you want within reach of salt air.

Swings, gliders and benches

Porch swings, gliders, chaises and benches in the same poly lumber and the same color range.

Outdoor dining and tables

Dining, counter and bar height sets, plus side and coffee tables to match the chairs.

Rope hammocks and stands

The original Pawleys Island rope hammock is still here, along with quilted hammocks, tree hooks and stands.

The whole Pawleys Island line

We can order any of it. Ask us what is on the floor today and what comes in on the next truck.

Eleven Pawleys Island DURAWOOD poly Adirondack chairs in aqua, blue, navy, green, black, red, white, tan and brown around a fire pit

Adirondack chairs, in a color you actually want

The chairs are DURAWOOD® poly lumber, pressed from recycled industrial waste with no wood fiber in it. It will not absorb water, rot, splinter or crack, it is fade resistant, and it never needs paint, stain or sealant. Color runs all the way through, so a scratch does not show something different underneath.

  • Essentials, Sunrise, Crescent, Refined and Nest styles
  • Rockers, folding chairs and a kid-sized version
  • Marine-grade 316 stainless hardware and mortise and tenon joints

The hammock they have made since 1889

The original Pawleys Island rope hammock is still woven the same way, with solid oak spreader bars. Choose classic cotton rope for softness, or DURACORD® if you want something that shrugs off Florida humidity, mildew and sun.

  • Rope and quilted hammocks
  • Cypress ROMAN ARC® and TRI-BEAM® steel stands
  • Tree hooks included with the hammocks

Swings, and somewhere to hang them

Single and double porch swings, cushioned swings and hanging rope chairs, in the same poly lumber and rope as the rest of the line. If you have nowhere to hang one, they build stands for that too.

  • Single, double and cushioned swings
  • Hanging rope swing chairs
  • Cypress and steel swing stands

Built to stay outside

Everything Pawleys Island makes is built for weather, not for a catalog photo. Solid oak spreader bars on the hammocks, marine-grade 316 stainless fasteners on the furniture, and mortise and tenon joinery instead of staples. It is the kind of construction that matters when a piece lives on a porch in Okeechobee year round.

  • Marine-grade 316 stainless steel hardware
  • DURACORD® rope and DURAWOOD® poly resist fading and mildew

Pawleys Island questions

Yes. We stock Pawleys Island DURAWOOD® Adirondack chairs and rockers along with their swings, benches, outdoor dining and rope hammocks, and Morgan’s is listed in the dealer locator on the Pawleys Island Hammocks website. Come see them at 707 SW Park Street in Okeechobee or call (863) 467-2072.

It is a dense poly lumber pressed from recycled industrial waste. Because there is no wood fiber in it, it does not absorb water, so it will not rot, splinter or crack the way real wood does in our humidity. It is fade resistant and never needs paint, stain or sealant. Hose it off when it gets dusty and that is about it.

That is what it is built for, and the 316 stainless hardware is rated for salt air. The chairs are heavy enough to stay put in ordinary weather, but when a named storm is coming, bring them in or secure them like you would anything else on the porch.

The poly line comes in a wide range, from coastal blues and greens through black, white, tan and red, plus a woodgrain finish if you want the look of stained wood without the upkeep. Colors run all the way through the lumber, so a scratch does not show a different color underneath. Ask us what we can order.

For a hammock, a stand solves that. Pawleys Island makes Southern cypress ROMAN ARC® stands and TRI-BEAM® steel stands. If you do have the trees, the hammocks come with tree hooks.
